Chapter One of the collaborative story has come to an end!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project so far. It has been incredible to see so many people helping to create this collaborative story.
We will be pausing the story between Chapters One and Two. In this time we hope to improve our website, the process of creating the story and let people enjoy reading the story so far!
We will be engaging with our community – our followers on social media and email subscribers – to help decide how to move forward into Chapter Two!
Over 30 writers have contributed writing to Thereafter, and hundreds of readers have chosen the parts of the story each week. We are incredibly grateful to you all.

I have so enjoyed being part of Thereafter. This unique storytelling platform is an exciting way for writers to share their ideas. Choosing the next story part is fun. It reminds me a bit of story books I had as a child where you could choose how the story should progress and skip forward to a given page to read on. I can’t wait for Chapter Two!!
I have really enjoyed being apart of there after story, it’s exciting to see the suggestions for the next part in the story and also gives a sense of achievement when your part gets picked, as a writer it gives you a boost in confidence that your writing is enjoyed by others, what you say is important and people do want to read what you have to say. I am looking forward to seeing how the story continues
